Visual Testing
Visual examination of welds, surfaces and components for visible discontinuities and conditions.
View method VT →Eight inspection methods. One commitment to technical quality.
Westcape provides industrial non-destructive testing and material identification, with method selection based on your component, standards and inspection goals.
From conventional surface and volumetric testing to advanced ultrasonic methods and material verification. Each technique has its own capabilities and limitations.

Share drawings, material, location, applicable codes and inspection extent.
Agree on technique, access conditions, inspection procedure and acceptance criteria.
Complete the agreed examination and document objective, traceable results.
Effective inspection begins with a suitable method, realistic testing coverage and applicable technical requirements. Project-specific acceptance criteria and qualified personnel remain essential.
The service range includes VT, PT/LPI, MT/MPI, UT, Eddy Current (EC), Phased Array UT (PAUT), radiographic testing (RT/X-ray) and Positive Material Identification (PMI).
Both use ultrasound. PAUT uses multiple elements to electronically control the direction and focus of the ultrasonic beam; suitability depends on geometry and inspection objectives.
MT applies to ferromagnetic materials and can reveal suitable surface and near-surface discontinuities. PT detects surface-breaking discontinuities in suitable non-porous materials.
The inspection extent is agreed from the applicable standard, drawings, risk and project specification; a percentage stated for one project does not automatically apply to another.
Tell us the component, material, required examination, applicable standard and project location. We can discuss a suitable scope.
